Velvet Worm
Velvet worms (Onychophora) live on the forest floor under leaves, stones and logs. Their diet consists mainly of small invertebrates like termites. Velvet worms become food for other animals like spiders, birds, and rodents. Their soft segmented bodies have adapted so they can live in tight spaces.

Termites
Termites (Isoptera) make large nests in the trees of the amazon. 8% of the world termite population lives in the amazon. Climate stability is a large reason the Amazon is home to so many termites. Termites help the world by recycling waste in the ecosystem. They consume wood for the cellulose in it.

Bullet Ant
Bullet Ants (Paraponera clavata) live in the nests they make at the botom of trees. They consume plant nectar that is brought to the nest by worker ants. The ant's sting is said to be the most painful of any ant. Theyve adapted their sting as a defense mechanism.

Veiled Stinkhorn Mushroom
Leaf Beetles
Leaf beatles (Chrysomelidae) live in the canopy of the rainforest on large, flat leaves. They feed mainly on leaves. They range from 5 to 15 millimeters in length. Many have adapted to blend in with the canopy leaves that they call home.
